Responsibility

We believe that giving our time, money and resources builds stronger communities and is essential to Loblaw’s long-term success. As a member of Imagine Canada, we have pledged to donate at least 1% of our pre-tax profit per year to charitable and non-profit organizations.

Our Priorities

Our support is focused at the national, regional and local levels on:

President’s Choice Children’s Charity (PCCC) – is committed to helping kids. Whether we are providing support to children with disabilities or ensuring hungry tummies are filled with nutritious food, we want to make sure kids have every opportunity to live to their full potential.  The best part - 100% of every dollar donated to the Charity goes to helping kids across Canada.

We believe nutrition is fundamental to children’s health and we want to provide the resources necessary to fuel a better learning environment. Our support of children’s nutrition is accomplished by being the National Premier Sponsor of Breakfast for Learning™ and through the Boys & Girls Club of Canada’s PCCC Basic Needs Brighter Future Program.

We support children with disabilities by providing financial grants for essential specialized equipment and essential therapists. Through individual grants, the charity is able to supply much needed resources and help provide a renewed sense of independence, dignity and freedom.

Last year alone, President’s Choice Children’s Charity granted $9.1 million to more than 1,900 families across Canada as well as $3.9 million to more than 2,900 nutrition programs.

Through store fundraisers, national fundraising initiatives or personal donations, our employees, vendors and customers have truly demonstrated their commitment to the President's Choice Children's Charity.

Loblaw gives many heartfelt thanks to all of our generous supporters.

Healthy Active Kids – We support charitable organizations across Canada that are working to address the increasing concern of childhood obesity by supporting national programs for children and youth to increase their knowledge and awareness of nutrition, physical activity and healthy living.

Feeding Our Neighbours – We have partnered with Food Banks Canada to develop a strong national food drive strategy to help the more than 800,000 Canadians who turn to food banks each month. Through this collaboration, local and provincial food banks receive support from Loblaw corporate and participating franchise stores during our National Extra Helping food drives in the spring and the winter.

Greening Our Communities – We work with WWF, Tree Canada, the Trans Canada Trail and more to grow programs that inspire Canadians to take action on a few simple, selected behaviours in a way that yields measurable environmental benefit.

In addition to these initiatives, Loblaw stores directly support the communities in which they operate. Our stores have the ability to donate in gift cards. These can be used as auction items or to purchase needed items from the store. Requests that benefit the community and do not exceed $500 can be submitted directly to the local store manager for consideration.
